A Thought: By Tom Murphy

We who are in this race for riches, should be encouraged to know that this changed world in which we live is demanding, new ideas, new ways of doing things, new leaders, new inventions, new methods of teaching, new methods of marketing, new books, new literature, new features for television and radio, new ideas for moving pictures. Of all this demand for new and better things, there is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is………………
At 211 degrees, water is hot…
At 212 degrees, water boils…
At 212 Degrees, water makes steam…
Steam that can power a locomotive…
That one degree makes all the difference, and that extra effort in business and in life, separates the good, from the great…
In the last 25 years the Masters Tournament has been won on average by less than 3 strokes.
Olympic Gold Metals, in track are won by a difference of .71 seconds.
In the last 10 years the Indy 500 has been won by a difference of 1.4 seconds
It’s your life; you are responsible for the results.
To get what we have never had, we need to do what we have never done...
It’s time to turn up the heat to do what you need to do and get what you want.
We can turn our business around. Make that extra phone call. Drive that extra mile. Stay an extra hour…..one degree….71 seconds….three strokes…..not all that much. But it separates the winners from the “wana be’s”.

Make the commitment now to finish up this year with an effort that provides honor.

Next year will be our best. I have every faith in this district as a team. I know we can do it.

SPOTLIGHT ON THE SUPPORT CENTER….
JOAN CAMPO, SR. ACCOUNTING CLERK,
CORE PAYROLL AND TAX PROCESSOR.

Joan’s career with Tandem started in February, 1995, as an Accounts Payable Processor. She then progressed to Financial Systems Administrator in 2000, with a title change to Sr. Accounting Clerk. In addition to Joan’s role in Accounting, she also serves as Core Payroll and Tax Processor. Joan reports directly to Sheila Williams, Treasury Operations Manager.

Joan has one son, JJ (Joseph) who is nine years old and is the shining star in Joan’s life. A devoted mother, Joan spends most of her off-time with JJ and still finds time to share her life with her two sisters, her Mom and friends. Joan says: “it gets very interesting when the family is all together!” Not much for hobbies, Joan and JJ enjoy making sand sculptors so they prefer the beach and going to the park to throw around the ol’ pigskin and baseball. Joan does not profess to be athletic, but like everything else, she tries!

As a co-worker, Joan is our shining star! Her personality is upbeat and she brings a smile to all those who work with her. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and is one of the most generous people I know. Please join me in a “Thumbs-Up” salute to the Support Center’s own…Joan Campo.
Congratulations are in order..................

Spotlight: Debbie Dardis..

Debbie began working with Tandem in September of 2004 and has since proved that she has what it takes. With 16 years of experience in staffing, Debbie was the perfect choice for ASDS in the South East.

Some of Debbie's recent accomplishments include supporting, growing, and servicing an account in Medley that eventually turned into a three shift operation for us. We have since placed a TOP manager there that happens to be the co-author of this newsletter....Ms. Eden Cain.

Centex Construction, a top billing client here in the south was on the verge of breaking their ties with Tandem. Debbie paid a visit to Centex and used her powers of persuasion to convince the client we would not fail again. Low and behold service has been astounding and we continue to service Centex on at least 90% of their job sites here in the south.

Just a little 411 on Deb that we thought you might or might not like to know, but we'll tell you anyway.

Favorite Color: Green - This indicates stability, balance, and persistence, when you start something, you finish it! You are a good citizen, a respectable neighbor, and a concerned parent. You are inclined to be frank, moral, and sensitive to social etiquette. Your reputation is highly important to you, but you do delight in hearing of the scandals of others. You are an affectionate and loyal friend, lover and spouse.

Most embarrassing moment: "I was dropped off at the hospital by a friend, and she left my car in the parking lot. When I was discharged I had no clothes so I was in a gown with no shoes."

So basically Debbie was wandering aimlessly barefoot in a hospital gown looking for her car.

Greatest achievement outside of work: Three sons...Michael 16, Matthew 12, and Morgan 18 months.

LAKELAND OFFICE GOES SOLO

As of November 1st, the Lakeland office became it's own branch and has dissolved it ties with the Tampa office. The office will be listed as branch 368 and will be spearheaded by Susan Rogers and Maximo Perez. The branch will provide service delivery to it's existing clients and continue to provide support to it's TOP location as well. New business will be procured by Maximo Perez, who comes from the Tampa office and day to day operations will be handled by Susan Rogers. Lakeland is an emerging market that will provide ample opportunity for growth and the Lakeland team is confident that their success is inevitable.
